With the Credit Union VISA CheckCard, you can make withdrawals from more than 627,000 ATMs worldwide. There is no surcharge for using GUASFCU ATMs - we have ATMs in the Leavey Center and Leo O'Donovan's Dining Hall. In addition, GUASFCU is now a member of the Allpoint Network, offering access to 32,000 ATMs nationwide, surcharge free. When using another bank's ATM, there is a low $0.75 surcharge. But, the CheckCard is much more than an ATM card. Your card may be used at any of the more than 21 million merchants that accept VISA. The CheckCard works similar to a VISA credit card, however the purchase will be debited from your checking account immediately so that you don't get a bill at the end of the month. The VISA CheckCard is a great way to avoid getting yourself into expensive credit card debt - you're sure to always spend within your budget. And, you always get a variety of purchase protections when you use your CheckCard.

  
Cancel a Card

Zero Liability
The Credit Union VISA CheckCard offers you VISA's Zero Liability Guarantee. You will never be liable for unauthorized and fraudulent transactions. Whether your purchase was made at a store, over the phone, or online, you are not responsible for any fraudulent charges. Guaranteed. If your card or card number is ever compromised, report the card lost or stolen immediatley. If any unauthroized charges have been made, you can eaisly dispute the charges and we will credit your account in 2-3 days.
 
Active Fraud Protection
The Credit Union uses state of the art active fraud monitoring technology to better protect you from fraud. All VISA CheckCard transactions are run through our transaction profiling system, which can instantly identify suspecious or out of the ordinary transactions. In some cases, we may contact you to verify that you are aware of certain charges. All information about your purchases is, of course, private.
  
Purchase Protection
Whenever you use your VISA CheckCard, you are eligible for a variety of other purhcase protection services. For example, imagine that an order you placed online arrives damaged and that the merchant refuses to accept a return of the goods. If you paid by check or money order, you would have to deal directly with the merchant. However, if you made the purchase on your VISA CheckCard, we can assist you in disputing the charge with the marchant - often allowing you to receive a credit back into your account. Lost or Stolen Cards - If your card is ever lost or stolen, you should immediately report it by calling the Credit Union toll free at (866) GUA-SFCU. We can always reactivate your card if it is found later .
  
Activation and PIN Selection
For your protection, your card is shipped inactive. To activate the card, call toll free (800) GUA-SFCU. You will receive a default PIN within 1-2 days of receiving the card. However, you may select a personallized PIN at any time by visiting our member service department.
